10 Things Civil War Article – Sketch Notes Write down the 10 bolded title headings located throughout the article on your own piece of paper. It can be in any order or organization but these should really be the only words you write on the paper. For each heading create a small drawing that summarizes the information you learned in that section. Again this can be in any order or organization. It should emerge organically in the way your brain process what it was reading. See the example of mind mapping/sketch noting on the next slide for inspiration. Try to use only pictures so you take advantage of the dual coding of words and images in your memory. After reading and sketch noting the article answer the following question on the back of your notes page: What information from this article surprised you the most? What was unexpected?
