Year 9 China Week Preparation in PSHCE

Lesson Objectives; By the end of the lesson I will be able to; Describe exactly where we are going. Explain what the landscape and lifestyle is like there. Discuss the customs and beliefs of the local people.

Starter Task Where are we going? What will we see? What will we experience? Think, discuss in pairs, share ideas.

This trip will include – Hiking and carrying all of your own belongings in a rural environment. Homestay (2 nights) with a Miao family in their home. Community project work – you will be helping the locals with an important task e.g. cropping, rice farming, building. Teaching children key skills and playing games (visit to a local school). Dragon boating and learning traditional crafts. Complete integration into rural life in China!!
