Day 14 Art A Plaster Masks

Agenda Review of last time Demonstration on how to add plaster or extra parts to your mask. Help the person who helped you last time apply the plaster to their face.

Last time We learned about the masks around the world. Than everyone designed an idea of how they would apply the plaster to their faces. People either applied their own plaster or got with a partner and helped them apply the plaster. If you were not here last time you will want to get the notes from someone in the class and get your plaster on your face today.

Mask Instructions Make sure to put Vaseline where you have hair on your face. Dip the plaster gauze into warm water than smooth onto the face. Complete your mask by putting plaster gauze on at least half your face. You need at least 2-3 layers for your mask to come off clean. Once done let dry until hard and start pealing off at the edges. Avoid putting it on the eyes or covering the nostrils (you need to breath.

Studio Time 9.26.2017 Get into your group of 2 and begin putting the plaster onto your face if you did not do it last time. Remember Vaseline first and warm water Once done begin by adding plaster to the edges of your mask so you can smooth out the edges. Than you will smooth out the rest of the mask and add any additions to the structure of the mask.

Clean up! Tables need to be washed off with wet paper towels. All plaster needs to be picked up and put into the box unless it is wet. All masks need to be placed on the drying rack in the back room. Plaster and water from plaster need to go into the bucket not the sink.
