LENSES A lens is defined as - A ground or molded piece of glass, plastic, or other transparent material with opposite surfaces either or both of which.

Lenses A lens is a transparent material (with at least one curved side) that causes light refracts in a predictable and useful way. Each ray is refracted.

Light and Lenses While Mirrors involve the reflection of light and the images we see, Lenses involve another property of light, refraction, or the effects.
What is a lens? A transparent object that refracts light rays, causing them to converge or diverge to create an image.

Ray Diagrams for Concave Lenses Physics March 30th Ray Diagrams for Concave Lenses

Three Rays to be Drawn Principal Ray - Any incident ray traveling parallel to the principal axis of a diverging lens will refract through the lens and travel in line with the focal point (i.e., in a direction such that its extension will pass through the focal point). Focal Ray - Any incident ray traveling towards the focal point on the way to the lens will refract through the lens and travel parallel to the principal axis. Central Ray - An incident ray that passes through the center of the lens will in effect continue in the same direction that it had when it entered the lens.
