Air Pollution and Global Warming See Chapter 15 section 4 to help answer the questions

It is the addition of harmful substances to the atmosphere

Pollution is caused by: Our daily activities like driving Factories Power plants Businesses that use chemicals Nature

Examples of pollutants: Volcanic ash Pollen Dust Sea salt Vehicle exhaust Ozone (smog) Fires/smoke Chemicals from paints, factories, and other human sources.

It’s bad because: Cause allergies Causes other health problems (cancer, asthma, ect.) Hole in the ozone layer Global warming Causes acid rain

To reduce pollution, I can: Air out buildings New laws to limit pollutants New technology Walk or car pool Simple life changes Use alternative en. sources

Global Warming Is caused by air pollution is the rising in average temps. on Earth is natural but humans may be making it happen faster

Global Warming happens B/c of the greenhouse gases (CO2, methane) trap & hold more heat, keeping it close to Earth instead of letting it escape into space.

The Greenhouse Effect-

climate and weather could change drastically Sea levels could rise If it continues: climate and weather could change drastically Sea levels could rise Plants/animals might go extinct However, climate change is very complicated and no one really knows the cause.
