WHOSE COUNCIL IS IT ANYWAY? YOURS

WHO IS ON THE PARENT COUNCIL??? PARENTS OF PUPILS AT OLSJ. HEAD TEACHER /TEACHER REP. CHURCH LIAISON REPRESENTATIVE. LOCAL COMMUNITY LIAISON REPRESENTATIVE. WHO IS ON THE PARENT COUNCIL???

WHAT DOES THE COUNCIL DO? ORGANISE FUNDRAISING EVENTS. WORK WITH OLSJ MANAGEMENT TEAM. ASSISTS WITH EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. LIAISE WITH EXTERNAL PARTNERS.

HOW MUCH OF YOUR TIME DOES THIS TAKE UP? 1 HOUR MONTHLY MEETING (TERM TIME ONLY), THIS EQUATES TO A MAXIMUM OF 9 HOURS IN THE YEAR AND ITS USUALLY LESS. HELPING AT EVENTS WHERE YOUR CHILD IS ATTENDING ANYWAY, USUALLY A MAXIMUM OF 90 MINUTES PER EVENT. 3 DISCOS, NERF WARS ETC. 9 MEETINGS + 4 EVENTS = 15HRS PER YEAR (MAXIMUM)

WHAT EVENTS DOES THE COUNCIL ORGANISE? DISCOS FILM NIGHTS LADIES NIGHTS QUIZ NIGHTS NERF WARS EVENTS WHAT EVENTS DOES THE COUNCIL ORGANISE?

WHERE DOES THE MONEY RAISED GO? TO YOUR CHILDREN. ASSISTING WITH KILBOWIE TRIP. CHRISTMAS SELECTION BOXES. BUYING SPECIFIC ITEMS E.G. 50% OF SCHOOL’S VIOLINS. BUYING LEAVERS GIFTS FOR PRIMARY 7 CHILDREN.

HOW CAN I HELP? ATTEND COUNCIL MEETINGS, FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH 18:00 OLSJ STAFF ROOM (REMEMBER ONLY 9 HOURS A YEAR). TAKE UP A POST ON THE COUNCIL. HELP AT EVENTS YOUR CHILDREN ATTEND, COLLECT MONEY, DONATE RAFFLE PRIZES ETC.
