FLL Facts Founded in 1998 FIRST ® = For Inspiration & Recognition of Science and Technology LEGO ® = LEGO Education, Product Sponsor 15,000 teams in 50+ countries 300 teams statewide in Arizona 13 Arizona Regional Qualifying Tournaments 1 State Championship Tournament at ASU

FLL Challenge FLL utilizes theme-based challenges to help teams of children, ages 9-14, discover the fun in solving real- world science problems through teamwork, research and robots. In this Natures Fury season, teams are challenged to use the robot game and the research project to explore the topic of natural disasters and how they impact communities. Teams will develop innovative solutions to the problems that arise due to the awe- inspiring storms, quakes, waves and more that we call natural disasters. The teams are also challenged to practice the programs Core Values, which emphasize the importance of learning, sharing, friendly competition and community involvement.

Tournament Details Teams celebrate their accomplishments in fun tournaments: Nov 23– Qualifying Tournaments Statewide Dec 7 – Qualifying Tournaments Statewide Dec 14 - Championship Tournament at ASU Tournament Times: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Volunteers start checking in at 6 a.m. Teams start checking in at 7:30 a.m. Attire: Casual and comfortable Lunch and snacks will be provided!

Guidelines Be on time for your shift Never have unsupervised contact with any child, other than your family members Conduct yourself as a gracious professional Contact us if you are unable to volunteer, so your role can be filled. Have Fun!
