Unit 6 – Creating digital images

We come across many different images every day We come across many different images every day. Often those images have been carefully selected or designed for a specific purpose. When selecting an image for use in a specific context, there are several things we must consider.

Some of the things we must consider are: The target audience The size and location that the image will appear in The media (hardcopy, on screen etc.) that the image will be used in What message the image should send to the viewer What values the image needs to portray

Look at the next six images Look at the next six images. Consider their target audience, size, location, media, message and values. In some cases the context has been given to you. Think about and discuss these images in your group(s). Why were they chosen? What message and/or values do they convey? Do you think they do their job well?
