Ra *One of Ra’s jobs was to provide warmth, light and growth *Ra appeared as Kepri in the morning, Ra at noon and Atum in the evening *He also traveled on his sun boat every night

Khnum *He controlled the main element of fertility *Khnum was a self-created god *He created man and gods, which he fashioned on a potters wheel *Ptah, Amon, and Khnum were often called “Lords of Destiny”

Osiris * Osiris’s job is to judge the people who come to have their heart weighed before entering the Afterlife *He is the god of vegetation that is why his face is green

Set(h) *Set was the god of vengeance, and storms *Set’s wives are Nephthys, Taweret, Anat and Astarte(war goddesses from the Syria-Palestine area and daughters of Ra)

Anubis * Anubis is the god of the Dead *In the Middle Kingdom the Egyptians decided that Osiris was the main god of the Dead *Priest wore Anubis masks while going through the embalming process

Thoth *Thoth was the god of the mind, intelligence, reading and knowledge *Thoth’s wife was Ma’at together they represented truth, order, and justice *Thoth also decided if you should go to a good or bad place when you die

horus *He was known as the war and protector god *Horus means falcon *Horus was said to have lost his eye in a battle and when it was restored it became known as the eye of horus and a symbol of restored health *His job was to protect the people of Egypt The Eye of Horus

Nut *Nut is the goddess of the sky and the heavens *She is the daughter of Shu and Tefnut *Ra decided that she could not have kids on any day of the year so Thoth won five extra days from the moon and she had Osiris, Horus the Elder, Set(h), Isis, and Nephthys

Geb *Geb is the god of the Earth *His sacred animal is thegoose * At certain points in time he trapped the people who were weighed down with sin in his body
