Norrköping SCS… has got a long history… Started the 26 of January 1999 Member of the E2C – and member of the board since the start. President Thomas Idenås

The international plattform.. Mobility projects with work placements – every year since 1999 Youth Summits, every year since 1998 A lot of different projects over the years.. Being a part of the network E2C gives us a lot of opportunities to send students abroad, and for our students who never could afford to go abroad themseleves its an adventure of course. You can actually see who they grow of that challange! . Every year since 2000 we have sent students abroad for two weeks every year, to practice their work in another country. In the network there are Youth Summits-meeting every year. And we have attended all years, since the first one 1998. There are often great summits with lot of people from the whole Europe, and it gives our student a change to learn to know other youngsters from other countries and learn more about other cultures. Very meanful in many ways! Second Chance School Norrköping Sweden

2 Labour market consultants Organization..... 70 students/year 17 – 24 year Staff: Headmaster 4 teachers 2 Labour market consultants The common factor of students; fail in the regular school and lot of other problems. All have unsuccessful experiences of mainstream education. They have different kinds of documented learning difficulties and/or social problems and some kind of special needs. They do not have the ability to pass upper secondary school, but they have an intention and a goal to get an education and/or a job. Second Chance School Norrköping Sweden

”A tailor-made education that meets The main aim is to increase the employment opportunities and to find successful ways for students to enter the labour market. ”A tailor-made education that meets the needs of the students and the employers ” The corner-stones of the education is “to face each individual at his/her level” Second Chance School Norrköping Sweden

SUCCESS is a result of ”every day small steps….” The most important work we do with our students is to encourage them to take the next step, and to not fall down! We do it every morning in the classroom, talking about the progress they do in the work placement, and give them ideas what they need to do to take next step! They need a lot of coachning! Second Chance School Norrköping Sweden

Successfactors The individual approach... … all students find his/her own way out to the labour market. Methodology ... …different than the "regular school" Focus on SOCIAL COMPETENCE… ….the key for success Network and projects... ….provides silver lining and status An unconventional cooperation with the workplace.. …mentors are seen Frequent individual meetings with students… ….create close relationships  Well-prepared students…  ....student knows what to expect of them in the work placement Continuous shoring of students progress in workplace…. ... helps the student in the learning process Second Chance School Norrköping Sweden
