Inventor is divided into how many distinct areas? Five distinct areas

How is a ribbon divided? Within ribbons are tabs Within tabs are panels Within each panel are related commands Commands have other commands beneath them are access when you expand the drop downs

What information can be found in the Browser Panel? History of information on the structure of your models

What is the largest area of the Inventor environment? The graphics window

What is F1? For Help

How can you get a preview of a document? Hover or pause the cursor over a document tab

What is the Pan Command? Moves the view left, right, up or down

How can you exit a command? ESC key

What happens when you press and hold down F2? This will toggle the PAN command

What will the wheel on the mouse allow to do in Inventor? Pan the drawing

How many zoom commands are available in Inventor? There are four zoom commands

What are the four Zoom Commands? Zoom Window Zoom Select Zoom All Look at

What happens when you press and hold the F3 key? Toggles to the Zoom Command

What happens when you press the F5 key? Steps back through the ten previous views

What happens when you press Shift+F5? Steps forward 10 views

How do you use Free Orbit? Allows you to select a point in the graphics window as a center point and then rotate the model about that point

What happens when you press and hold the F4 key? Toggles the Free Orbit Command

What happens when you hold SHIFT and press the middle mouse button? Toggles the Free Orbit command

What happens when you press the F6 key? Sets the model to the Home View

Where is the View Cube located? Top Right of the graphics window

How many faces are on the View Cube? Six faces

Where is the Application Menu located? Upper left corner of the inventor program window

What commands are found in the Application Menu? Create Open Export a file

How can you lock a document to a list? Click the push pin next to the file name

What is the Design Assistant command? Allows you to manage, track and maintain files

How do you update a file created in an over version of Inventor? Migrate

What is the Refresh command? Updates all the files in a session that are out-of-date

What will the Close Command do in inventor? Close the active file Close All will close all of the open files.

What is the ribbon? The ribbon contains the commands used to create and manipulate the Inventor design information

How can you customize the ribbon? By right-clicking on any command

What is Place Views? The tab where you will find the commands needed to get your design into a drawing

What is the Annotate Tab? Where the commands are to add details necessary to produce the design

What is the Drawing Resource folder? The ‘tool box’ of drawing resources

What is sheet format? Displays the available sheet layouts

What are New Sheets? Drawing format that is already created and contain standard elements

What is in the Borders Folder? Contains the default and custom borders available to be inserted into a drawing

What are title blocks? Title blocks that are available to be inserted into a drawing

What is found in the Place Views tab? Create Panel Modify Panel Sketch Panel Sheets Panel

What is in the Create panels command? Base view Projected view Auxiliary view Section view Detail view Overlay view Draft view

What are the commands in the Modify Panel? Break Break out Slice Crop

What is the Sketch command? Allows the creation of sketch geometry within a view, or in the creation of sketched symbols

What can you do with the Dimension panel? The dimension panel contains all of the dimensioning commands

What can you do in the Sketch Tab? Create command Edit command Constrain command Dimension sketch geometry command
