Application/Transcripts Obtain From School District-Web Site (Frontline Applitrack) Type Info in a Google Doc, Word etc. Complete All Sections Upload Resume, Transcripts, Letters of Recommendation, Certificate, etc. Transcripts Send Original With Other Material Preferred Get From University/College Registrar

Teaching Certificate Usually done through Frontline Mail Copy With Information Mail Both Sides If Applicable If not yet available include what your certification will be!

Interview Process Before Interview **Meet on Their Terms/Times Dress Professionally Research School District - Look For an Edge Illinois Report Card Browse School Web Site Who Are you meeting with? Secretaries – Great resource – Names! Other staff, Administrators, etc.

The Interview Format Individual Group Committee Band Parents Feeder District Band Director Administrators Another District Band Director Other District staff, non-music staff etc.

The Interview What The Interviewer Will Tell You Will Introduce Committee Will/May Describe Selection Process Will/May Describe Job/Program May or May Not Talk About Salary and Benefits (Usually not)

The Interview (This is Important!) Remember to Include this statement at the end of every question you are asked (although you will rarely hear it out loud) …..that makes you a great candidate, if not THE candidate for this position in our school or district! If you leave here today with nothing but this information, you have just greatly increased you possibility of moving forward in the interview process!

The Interview You May Ask Questions Don’t Focus On You “What’s In It For Me.” Focus Questions on Educational Program Compliment Interviewer or Interview Team Reiterate Your Interest In The Position

Other Tips Write Thank You Letter After The Interview Don’t Get Discouraged Don’t Burn Any Bridges Google Search Yourself Clean Up Facebook/Social Media!

If they are really interested in you…. They may ask you to come back and interact with students Teach a lesson Run a rehearsal Teach a general music class Play your instrument/perform Piano skills
