Sometimes it could take several months
Some jobs have higher turnover rates

3. Submitting Applications
ALWAYS check for spelling and grammar (more than once)
Put together a resume and cover letter
Use words that correspond with job description (computer generated filtering)
Things to include:
Professional (job) Experience
Skills
Education
Volunteer Experience
Basics: Name, Phone #, , LinkedIn (if available), etc.

4. Yay! You Got An Interview, Now What?
Remember you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. What is important to you?
Prep, prep, prep
Research the company (and industry)
Practice interviewing with a friend/mentor
Print out extra copies of your resume
Bring a folder, pen, and paper
Prepare 2-3 questions for the interviewer (avoid yes or no)
Team dynamics/ company culture
How does this role help meet company goals
Role expectations for the first 2 months
Next steps in the interview process

5. Time For The Interview! Types of Interviews:
Phone/ Video
In Person
Group
Dress clean, neat, and appropriately
Arrive ~10-15 minutes early
Be professional- always
Send a thank you / note
Follow up within 1-2 days of timeline that you were given (when you asked about next steps)
Remember: just like you have a specific job environment/ type/ etc. in mind, the interviewer has the same thought with candidates. Look for a role that is a right fit for BOTH of you. Sometimes this involves not getting hired.
