Suggestions for developing trust:. 1 Suggestions for developing trust: 1. Get to know each other: Take some time, when appropriate, to share personal stories, experiences or travels. Team members begin to relate to one another better when they find common ground. 2. Discuss your Team Player profiles: Ensure that each team member understands their role in the group. You may want to go around and share one strength and one weakness for each member. 3. Be honest and clear when discussing: Discussion is key to a group, however, as a team you should work towards an honest and fair method for communication (see Effective Communication on the Resource Board). Collaboration teamwork

Giving Effective Feedback Concentrate on the task, not the person. You may want to use “I” statements to help you frame your commentary. Balance the content. Use the “sandwich approach.” Provide strengths (3x), then give constructive comments and end with another positive. Be specific. Avoid general comments and offer alternatives rather than giving advice. Be realistic. Feedback should focus on what can be changed. Own the feedback. Use “I” rather than “they.” Teamwork collaboration

Effective Group Communication Focus on task, not individuals. Keep an open mind, listen clearly and ensure the discussion stays on task. Make sure what you say and what you do are giving the same message. In other words, keep your verbal and nonverbal language on the same page. Be engaged in the conversation. Be an active listener. Validate others’ claims. Compliment team members on a good ideas and suggestions. This makes them feel a part of the team and encourages future participation. Make sure everyone has a chance to speak. Encourage team members to share ideas and opinions. Do not let specific team members dominate the conversation. Ideas are lost this way. Teamwork - collaboration
