The Neighbourhood Development Plan Part 2. The Community Referendum is on the 2nd of May 2019. The Neighbourhood Development Plan Why is it Important to our communities? Its is about the future not the past. click to proceed 29/04/2019

Why your vote is so important This NDP: has been validated at all points in its writing, is inline with national and local policies, environmentally sound, allows limited new building in agreed areas, emphasises concerns on the environment. click to proceed 29/04/201929/04/2019

The NDP Reflects local needs and wishes. Has its own Vision and Objectives, resulting in specific policies and community action points. Must be in general conformity with and reflect the strategic policies of the development plan for the area (JCS & TBP and so the NPPF). The NDP Reflects local needs and wishes. Parishioners have had opportunities to express their views and these helped to form the NDP. At the start of the process in 2013 – basic condition statement. The NDP Has specific policies and community action points. There are: 3 policies covering the landscape and 5 community action points. 2 policies covering housing development and 3 community action points. 3 community action points covering transport. 1 policy on flooding and 9 community action points. click to proceed 29/04/2019

The NDP Is in general conformity with and reflect the strategic policies of the development plan for the area (JCS & TBP and so the NPPF). The draft plan was examined by an independent inspector to ensure the submitted policies conformed with the above. the report is published with the other document for you to read. click to proceed 29/04/2019

The NDP Focus development within specific areas. This is where Settlement Boundaries come into play. Norton NDP focuses house building within this area or in the case of Twigworth adjacent to the settlement boundary. The NDP Commits the parish councils to achieve the objectives that :- by 2031, Down Hatherley, Norton and Twigworth will have maintained and enhanced its rural environmental quality and improved the wellbeing and quality of life for all of its communities. click to proceed 29/04/2019

The NDP Helps protect he rural environment by: identifying key landscape features and views for protection from harm from intrusive development. ensuring that planting of trees and hedgerows as part of a new development are predominantly native species. being awarder the building with nature benchmark (the very first NDP to do so). click to proceed 29/04/2019

The NDP Helps enhance he rural environment by: working with landowners and stakeholders to protect hedgerows, trees, verges and other important landscape features from loss or damage. encourage the restoration and creation of orchards and the protection of the ridge and furrow topography. seeking to protect and enhance the environment within the LPZ and the open countryside wherever possible. The NDP Will ensure that development will : be respectful of its surroundings, the village vernacular and materials, local topography and any heritage assets. contribute to a sense of village character, both in the buildings and spaces themselves and in the way in which they integrate with their surroundings, including appropriate landscaping, biodiversity enhancement and amenity space. click to proceed 29/04/2019
