Process & Methodology Creating a scalable business through efficient, effective delivery with repeatable quality. MODULE 7

7 Defining the process and methodology to ensure that you and your team can repeatedly deliver consistently, maintaining quality, and ensuring the profit on sale can be met or bettered in most scenarios.

Process & Methodology

Definition

Why define process? Repeatability: Ensures you can do the same thing in the same way Quality: Enables you to more easily assess and identify strengths and weaknesses Reduces risk: With knowledge of a process, risks can be predetermined Scalability and predictability: Provides the ability to delegate work to others with predictable results Accuracy: Enables you to determine the required effort – whether outsourcing tasks, such as sales and marketing, or scoping of a project Value: A defined process is a clear business asset (Saleable)

Example processes we’ve already touched Ideal client questionnaire Keep In Touch (KIT) list Sales pipeline Bid qualification questionnaire Sales process

How to create process Identify the outcome required Brainstorm the steps needed to be undertaken to create the outcome Document the sequence in a basic flowchart or table Determine who is involved in each step and their level of responsibility (RACI matrix) Identify any inputs and outputs

Why create a methodology? Alleviate stress: By simply knowing what you’re doing! Gives credibility: Enabling you to demonstrate to others that you’re an expert in what you do

Example methodology

Developing your standard approach Complete the following task: 7.1 Across the 12 areas of your business, identify where a process already does exist or can easily be created 7.2 Sketch out known process in rough draft (pen or pencil is fine) using a flow diagram model 7.3 Choose your 3 most well understood processes and document the core steps, utilising a RACI matrix
