Late policy All work may be submitted up to one class period late. There is a 10% reduction. After this one class period, the work may not be accepted. Exception: Students who were absent and need to make up the work have an additional day (depending on how many days out)

English 3 Textbook – Prentice Hall Literature: The American Experience Novels – The Great Gatsby, Their Eyes Were Watching God Writing – Argumentative, Expository, Research, Narrative, Timed Grammar review SAT test prep practice

English 3 Most work is completed in class along with the readings; however, if a student ever needs access to the text at home, they may see me for a copy. Primary homework: Vocabulary and Grammar exercises. Also, finishing any classwork or missed assignments. Posted on the class website for reference.

AP Language and Composition Textbook – The Language of Composition: Reading, Writing, Rhetoric. Novels –A Christmas Carol, The Great Gatsby, Brave New World, Frankenstein. Students are expected to have their own book. Literary Terms / Vocabulary Writing – Analysis, Argumentative, Synthesis Grammar & SAT Prep.

AP Lang. Most homework involves class readings and some essay writing. Homework is posted on the class website for reference. Class time is primarily used for class discussions, Socratic circles, debates, and group work. Whenever essays are assigned, there is usually time in class to work on the essay; in addition to this, there is always a peer edit and/or teacher edit day.

AP EXAM Offered May 15, 2018 $94 Guidance does have some financial aide information available. Scores of 3, 4, or 5 may qualify for college credit from thousands of universities and colleges.
