CHAPTER 2: MATTER. CHANGES OF STATE When matter changes from one state to another, we call this a phase change Thermal energy is related to the microscopic.

Hi, friends. I’m Dexter. This is my laboratory Hi, friends. I’m Dexter. This is my laboratory. I always do experiments in here. I like doing experiments in my lab.

Today, we will do some experiments in my lab. Let’s start.

I know the states of matter. Matter can be solid, liquid or gas.

We can change the state by heating or cooling the matter.

If we heat ice, it melts. If we heat water, it evaporates.

If we cool water, it freezes. If we cool water vapor, it condenses.

If we drop a coin in the water, it sinks. If we drop a cork in the water, it floats.

Yes, friends. Today we did some experiments together in my lab Yes, friends. Today we did some experiments together in my lab. See you next week!

LET’S REMEMBER DEXTER’S EXPERIMENTS 

If we heat ice, it melts. If we heat water, it evaporates.

If we cool water, it freezes. If we cool water vapor, it condenses.

If we drop a coin in the water, it sinks. If we drop a cork in the water, it floats.
