Energy has multiple forms and can be changed from one form to another.
The sun is the major source of energy for the earth.
Energy lights our life, powers our vehicles, and runs water in river, cooks our food. It warms and cools our homes, plays our music, and gives us.

Vocabulary Chapter 3: Lesson 1 Natural resource Pollution Point source pollution Nonpoint source pollution Environmental Science

Natural Resource Anything that occurs naturally in the environment and is used by people Ex. Trees, water, oil, coal, sun, etc.

pollution Contaminates of earth’s land, water, or air Ex: waste, chemical, noise, heat, light

Point source A specific pollution source that can be identified Ex. A pipe being run into a river

Nonpoint source A specific pollution source that can be identified Ex. A pipe being run into a river

Environmental science Study of natural processes in the environment and how humans can affect them Ex. Focuses on balancing the needs of the resource and the people.
