Saskatchewan Energy Share Programs Announced November 8, 2005 $37.3 Million investment funded by the Province of Saskatchewan Start date for most programs September 1 st – coincides with first announcement that there was a significant increase in natural gas prices projected for the winter SaskEnergy asked to manage a number of the programs.

Saskatchewan Energy Share Programs - Energy Efficiency Initiatives Share the Warmth Home Energy Efficiency Project Estimated program costs $500,000 over 5 years ENERGY STAR® Programmable Thermostat Rebate Estimated program costs - $1 Million to March 31, 2007 PST exemption on ENERGY STAR® furnaces & boilers Estimated program costs - $1.5 Million to March 31, 2007 EnerGuide for Houses Matching Grant Estimated program costs - $12.3 Million to March 31, 2007 EnerGuide for Low and Modest Income Households Estimated program costs - $22 Million over 2 – 5 years

SaskEnergy Share the Warmth Home Energy Efficiency Program Plan is to assist 500 homes in homes a year for 5 years Communities in partnership with SIAST Moose Jaw (50 homes) Prince Albert (50 homes) Regina (100 homes) Saskatoon (100 homes) 200 homes in communities that provide volunteer base. Meeting with Salvation Army to lead selection of families.

Programmable Thermostat Offer $45 rebate for the purchase of an ENERGY STAR® qualified programmable thermostat. Maximum rebate is $45 – we will not rebate more than was paid Only one rebate per household / business account Offer ends March 31, 2007 Rebate forms Website, bill stuffer, Network Member locations North Battleford Office processing all applications. Customer must complete rebate form, include copy of receipt and UPC code.

PST Exemption All ENERGY STAR furnace and boilers exempt from PST effective Nov. 8, Only furnace and boiler are exempt Duct work and other equipment is not exempt Qualified items installed Sept 1 – Nov 8 qualify for a $100 grant. Grant forms available on SaskEnergy website

EnerGuide for Houses Home Energy Efficiency Retrofit Grants Saskatchewan matching grant up to a maximum of $2,000 per homeowner. SaskEnergy issues homeowner a cheque for same amount they receive from the Government of Canada. Customers do not need to do anything additional to receive their matching grant. The Saskatchewan matching grant ends March 31, 2007 The follow-up evaluation must be completed prior to March 31 in order to qualify for the matching grant. Target is to assist 15,000 customers

EnerGuide for Low & Moderate Income Households Led by Saskatchewan Housing Corporation funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of Saskatchewan. Helps low and moderate income homeowners undertake energy retrofits. Assistance varies by type of dwelling, geographical location and income level. Refer customers that make less than $45,000 to apply to Sask Housing as they may be eligible for additional grants Target is to assist 17,400 households over 5 years. These initiatives will be introduced early this year

ENERGY STAR Loan Program Prime rate loan (oac) on an ENERGY STAR qualified furnace with a high efficiency variable speed motor or an ENERGY STAR qualified boiler that is both condensing & modulating Offer available through SaskEnergy Network Members until March 31, 2006.

Latest Federal Program Proposed incentive for installation of an ENERGY STAR furnace or boiler Target date: February 1, 2006 Processed thru EnerGuide Grant program & will be eligible for matching Energy Share grant Proposed: On-bill credit for those who dont complete an EnerGuide evaluation

Code Green National energy efficiency TV show Partnered with SaskPower, Office of Energy Conservation, Climate Change Saskatchewan, Cities of Regina and Saskatoon, Sun Ridge Group & SCN 6 part series featuring 12 Canadian homeowners 2 Saskatchewan homeowners competing. Objective is to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
