Order of Operation

You’ll learn to evaluate expressions using the order of operations. What you'll learn. You’ll learn to evaluate expressions using the order of operations.

When am I ever going to use this? Example Knowing the order of operations will help you find the total cost of adults’ and children’s admissions to the zoo.

Memorize Rules Number 1 - Do all operations within group symbols first. This includes parenthesis and brackets.

Memorize Rules Number 2 - Work all problems that have exponents. Begin from Left to Right.

Memorize Rules Number 3 - Multiply or Divide (which ever comes first from Left to Right).

Memorize Rules Number 4 - Add or Subtract (which ever comes first from Left to Right).

Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally! Thought of The Day Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally! This will help you learn the order of operations.

Are you up to the challenge? 1. (8+3)-5 2. 14-(19-19) 3. 5x8-3x4 4. 3+5x4 5. (24-10)-3x3 6. 4(22-18)-3x5 7. 3(18-12)-(5-3)
