Love for God -10 commandments -First commandment and the theological virtues -faith -gives us the ability to believe in God and His promises -can be strengthened by: -sins against: -voluntary doubt -incredulity -heresy -schism -apostasy*

-gives us the ability to trust in God for the future -sins against: -hope -gives us the ability to trust in God for the future -sins against: -despair -presumption -charity -love of God and others -love: -eros: -philia: -agape: -requires -indifference -ingratitude -lukewarmness/spiritual laziness/acedia -hatred of God*

-living the first commandment -moral virtue that helps us live the first commandment: religion -Offenses against the first commandment -idolatry -superstition -divination -irreligion -tempting God -sacrilege -atheism and agnosticism*

-the second commandment -the name of God (and anything else that belongs to Him….ALL THINGS) is sacred -Jews do not even use it -used to be killed for it -names are sacred because they signify the person -sins against: -breaking an oath -blasphemy -perjury -swearing -obscenity -vulgarity*

-third commandment -God rested on the Sabbath, and since we are to be a reflection of God to the best of our ability, we should rest too!!! -honors the Resurrection as well-which is why we celebrate it on Sunday -so what are our obligations? -go to Mass -also on holy days of obligation -rest from work -Why go to Mass? 1. God the Father said so!!! 2. Jesus said so!!! 3. The Church says so!!! 4. God made us social beings-we should worship TOGETHER!!! 5. GRACE 6. EUCHARIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
