A Story for

******’s mummy is called ****** and ******’s daddy is called ******. ****** is * years old. ******’s mummy is called ****** and ******’s daddy is called ******. ******lived with his mummy in **** and his daddy came to visit most days.

Before. was born mummy and daddy weren’t very well Before ****** was born mummy and daddy weren’t very well. Sometimes they had help and this made them feel better. When ****** was born mummy was feeling better and wanted to look after ****** very well.

When mummy felt better she was good at looking after ******. When mummy was not well she found it difficult to look after ****** and do all the things she needed to do for him.

There are some grown ups whose job it is to make sure children are safe. One of these grown ups was ******. ****** was ******’s social worker and she/he came to visit ****** and his family to see how they were. ****** and other grown ups were worried that when mummy and daddy were poorly they were finding it difficult to look after ******.

to do all the things she needed to do to look after ******. ****** and the other grown ups tried for a long time to help mummy feel better and to do all the things she needed to do to look after ******. Sometimes things got better for ****** and sometimes they got worse. Mummy didn’t always take ****** to school or to the doctor or dentist when he needed to go.

The grown ups told the wise old owl about ******. All the grown ups, whose job it was to keep children safe, wanted to make sure ****** was always safe and happy. They went to talk to a judge who is like a wise old owl who can help make good decisions for children. The grown ups told the wise old owl about ******.

The wise old owl listened to what ****** wanted, what mummy and daddy wanted, and what the social workers ****** and ****** thought was best for ******.

****** will be able to go to a new school and make lots of friends. The wise old owl said it would be best for ****** to live with his ****** in **** until ****** was a grown up. ****** will be able to go to a new school and make lots of friends. There are lots of things to do and places to explore in ****.

****** and ***** can visit **** on an airplane/train/car. ****** can see mummy and daddy, nanny, granddad and **** when he comes to visit ******. ****** and ***** can visit **** on an airplane/train/car.

Mummy and Daddy will be sad not to live close to Mummy and Daddy will be sad not to live close to ****** but they still love him very much and will look forward to seeing him when he visits. ****** has lots of family who love him and are looking forward to seeing him.

******’s family know about his story and he can talk to them about it whenever he wants to. ****** and ****** will visit ****** him and ****** can talk or ask questions about his story at any time.
