Wage, Entry, and On-The-job Training The median annual wage of middle school teachers was $51,960 in May 2010 All states requires teachers to have at least a bachelor’s degree Internship/residency is the on-the-job training

Job Outlook & Employment Rate The job outlook is 641,700 The employment rate is expected to grow 17 percent from 2010 to 2020

Teacher Duties Plan lessons that teach students subjects Teach students as an entire class or in small groups Grade students’ assignments to monitor their progress Prepare students for standardized tests required by the state
