What are we trying to accomplish? What kind of environment will help us accomplish our goals? CLASS DISCUSSION

Your Assignment 1. Work a partner to write the one most important rule for this class this year. *Please be serious. If students have good ideas, I will actually turn them into real rules! You and your partner are going to make a poster. On one side you are going to write your rule, and on the other side you will illustrate it. We are going to present our ideas tomorrow in class, so please be prepared to explain your choices during your presentation. Think about: Why did we choose this rule? What makes it MOST important? If everyone follows our rule, what kind of class will we have? If everyone follows our rule, will we be able to meet our goals? Why or why not? 5. Write notes (at least 5 sentences) that you and your partner can use during your presentation. IF you have time, practice your presentation.

Your Assignment Create a chart with two columns to evaluate presentations. On one side, write down the presenter’s name, and on the other side write one sentence about their presentation based on the criteria in the scoring guide: TONE, PACING, VOLUME and CONTENT. Good example: Their pacing was really good, because they didn’t go too fast or too slow. Not-so-good example: I didn’t like it because it was boring.
