Please sit anywhere (you will receive assigned seats in a few minutes) and grab a Do-Now handout that is located in the back of the classroom on the student table Write what your goal is RIGHT now for this class.

6 Welcome to your Group The people you are sitting with in your “pod” are now your laboratory partners and learning group. Introduce yourself to your “pod” group Name Grade The best thing you did this summer. Activities you are involved in. Why did you sign up for this class?

7 What I Expect Try your best. I believe you can do it, so you should too. Respect your teachers and peers. Be responsible for your own learning and behavior.

8 Cube Activity GOAL: Find out what is on the bottom of the cube
You CANNOT touch the cube Don’t spin it, pick it up, etc. Talk to your group members about what you see on each side 1st cube Determine what the number is on the bottom of the cube Determine what the color (white or purple) is on the bottom of the cube

How did you determine what the color was? How did it feel to not touch the cube? Were you able to communicate clearly to your group members?
