Do Now What is the Land Like Around the School? In your Composition book draw a small square to represent the school. Choose a word to describe the land near the school, such as flat, hilly or rolling and write it next to the square. Make four squares surround the school to represent north (towards Slauson), south (Manchester) , east (Florence) and west (LaCienga). What is the area like 1km (less than a mile) in each direction?

Agenda Do- Now / Class Business Standards, Learning Outcomes and Homework Exploring Earth’s Surface Book Activity Clean- Up Exit Ticket

Standards ES- 6.2, 6.7f, 6.7, 6.7.b Students will learn more about one of the parts of the system- the lithosphere and the landforms that make up its surface. Students will also read and interrupt simple maps. Students will learn how to develop their own questions and safely perform investigations to answer the questions.

Learning Outcome I can explain what the topography of an area includes I can identify the main types of landforms. I can explain how maps represent Earth’s surface and use them to locate points on the surface. I can explain why preparation is important when carrying out scientific investigations in the lab and in the field. I can describe what you should do if an accident occurs

Homework In your composition under the header Quiz Improvements. Write out any question you got wrong and bring it back signed by your parents (Due Friday). Reading and Note taking Guide Page 19- 25, Complete what wasn’t done in class. (Due Tuesday)
