How do I become a __________? Westport Middle School Advisory

How will you achieve your Career Goals? Picture yourself as an adult with your dream job. Here are some questions you should ask yourself? How did you get there? What steps did you take?

Let’s say you want to be a … Lawyer. First, you need to earn a Bachelor's Degree. This takes four years at a college. Next, take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and earn a score high enough to get into a law school. After that, earn your Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree. This takes three years at a law school. Next, pass your State Bar Examination. Finally, interview at various law firms and try to get a job.

Worksheet Complete the worksheet with your chosen career. If you do not know any of the answers, ask your teacher. Complete the reflection at the bottom of the page. Be ready to share.

Activity With a partner or group, create a mini- poster. Guidelines for the poster are on the back of the worksheet.
