Health and Death

Sanitary Methods Imagine for a second, that all of the hygiene products that you use today were all gone. Imagine that none of these modern creations existed or were replaced with something that was similar, but far less effective—and maybe just a little bit gross.

Chamber Pots A bowl used as a portable toilet, especially in the bedroom at night.

Privies A toilet located in a small shed outside a house Created a terrible smell

Nosegays A small bunch of flowers to mask the stench baths were not common, and everything stunk

Makeup extremely pale skin was considered to be beautiful Used lead skin whitener that caused: lead poisoning hair loss severe skin damage death

Wigs lice were such an issue that some people shaved off their hair and wore wigs Wigs also became infested, especially during times of plague.
