It followed trade routes like the Silk Road from Asia, through Constantinople into Europe.
1.Merchants and traders, unknowingly, brought rats carrying the disease to Mediterranean Sea ports in 1347.

12. Effects of the Black Plague
A. Plague killed people along ALL social classes including kings, nobles, lords, knights, vassals, and serfs.
 B. 25 million people died in Europe due to the plague.
 C. 1/3 or 33% of Europe's population died.

13. D. Due to the amount of people dying, there were less workers.
Serfs and peasants demanded fair wages and better food for their labor.
Serfs and peasants left manors to look for work and moved to the cities to earn better wages.
Without cheap labor of serfs and peasants, the manor system and feudalism ended.
