1 Bubonic Plague The Bubonic Plague refers to a disease that wiped out 30-50% of Europeans during the 1300s. It was also called the Black Plague or Black Death.

2 Bubonic Plague No one knew where it came from!!! Half of Europe died and chaos ensued. So many died, that it was common to see bodies in the streets and wagons and wheel barrows filled with dead bodies.

3 Bubonic Plague Symptoms would appear 3-7 days after the infection. Initial symptoms are chills, fever, diarrhea, headaches, and swollen lymph nodes. The rate of mortality for bubonic plague is 50%. Sometimes, there is bleeding from the skin and other organs, which creates black patches on the skin. There are bite-like bumps on the skin, commonly red and sometimes white in the center.
