WELCOME The Social Sciences learning area consists of History and Geography , both of which are of equal importance within the learning area .Social sciences aims to contribute to the development of informed , critical and responsible citizens who are able to play constructive roles in a culturally diverse society .

TOPICS COVERED FOR THE YEAR GEOGRAPHY: Places where people live Map Skills Food and Farming Water in South Africa HISTORY: Local History Learning from Leaders Transport through time Communication through time

GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY BOOKS INCLUDE: THE CLASSWORK BOOK – CONTAINS ALL FORMAL WORK DONE IN CLASS ON A DAILY BASIS AND CONTAINS ACTIVITIES SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO HELP & TO RE INFORCE CONCEPTS THAT WAS NOT UNDERSTOOD ASSESSMENT FILES – CONTAINS ALL FORMAL ASSESSMENT TASKS .

LEARNERS BOOKS Any work not completed in class can be completed during break and at home. If a learner is absent , it is the learners responsibility to make sure all work is up to date .The teacher will assist in giving worksheets and showing the learner all missed work . Kindly encourage your child to keep books up to date.
