The Digestive System The process of breaking down food into nutrients that the body can use.

Chemicals change the food.

Small intestine-nutrients are passed into the blood

Pancreas helps to break down starches and sugars

Liver- helps to break down fats.

Gall Bladder- stores bile produced by the liver which breaks down fats.

Villi are found in the inside of the small intestine Villi are found in the inside of the small intestine. They absorb the nutrients.

The nutrients are then transferred to the blood.

Large intestine- excess water is taken out of the waste.
