Final Project Int Design 1010 By: Chantz Charles

Client Profile Clients: Alex, Jessica, Sam, and Levi Designer: Chantz Charles Date: 02/08/2018 Occupants: Alex is a 21 year old production technician building x-ray tubes. Jessica is a 20 year old who works in financing loans. Sam and Levi are 20 years old. Levi works in a scrap yard and Sam is currently unemployed. The household has two large dogs that are primarily indoors and no children. Lifestyle and Hobbies: They live a casual lifestyle. They enjoy hanging out, playing with the dogs, and watching television. Space to be designed: Living room Entertaining: They would only entertain a maximum of two people at a time very casually. Daily activities for space: The living room is used as both a place to entertain, relax, watch tv, and dining. The home does not a have a space for a dining room, so the living room is used to dine. Favorite colors: Alex’s favorite colors are blacks, reds, and neutral colors. Jessica’s favorite colors are reds and browns. Sam and Levi enjoy reds, browns, and tans. Style: They want the room to be warm and homely. They want it to be very comfortable. Jessica really lives the idea of a canvas painting being the emphasis piece in the room. Favorite mediums: They like wood, glass, canvas paintings, and cotton comfortable couches. Items to keep: Their medium glass and wood tv stand, their large flatscreen tv, and their small wood bookshelf. Budget: $2000 Design Problem: Their current problem is that they have 4 adult roommates in the home with not enough seating. They need a comfortable amount of seating without taking up too much of the smaller space of the living room, while still having room for deliberate decoration.

Design Program Clients: The clients for this project are two couples who are roommates. Jessica and Alex own the home. The clients have two dogs that are largely indoors. The clients enjoy lounging and relaxing in their living room and watching television. They rarely entertain, but when they do it is in the living room. An abundance of seating is a must for this household. Design Concept The concept that will the selections is warmth and music. Alex loves the piano and would like to accessorize with the image of a piano. The group has agreed on warm colors- browns, reds, and warm neutrals for the color palette and patterns. Colors and Materials The material of the sofa will need to be a dark fabric to hide stains from the dogs, as well as possible stains from using the couches as a dining area. The color scheme will use browns for the walls and couches, greyish brown laminate wood floors, and accents of reds and warm neutrals for the rug, pillows, a throw blanket, and other accessories. Space Requirements The main desire of the clients is to have maximum seating to accommodate four adults and the two dogs, and needs to be functional for eating and watching tv. They require minimum storage because they do not keep many books or DVDs in the living room. To accomplish these goals a space plan will be created. Functional Analysis The space is open to the kitchen Comfortable seating for four Viewing distance for tv at least 90” Existing Items: 52-inch flat screen tv 5 ft x 1 ft tv stand
