What is a Kangaroo?

What is a Kangaroo? They are the only large mammal that can hop. kangaroos Male kangaroos are called bucks.

What is a Kangaroo? Joeys Joeys are the size of a jellybean when they are born. They are born pink with no hair. Joeys Joeys live in their mother's pouch drinking her milk. After they are a year old, They eat only grasses, leaves and the shoots of small trees.

What is a Kangaroo? At around 4 months, the joey emerges from the pouch for short trips and to graze on grass and small shrubs. At 10 months, the joey is mature enough to leave the pouch for good. Female Kangaroo’s are very protective over the Joey’s.

What is a Kangaroo? Kangaroos are very good swimmers but they only choose to swim when chased or if they have no other choice. They have very good hearing, eyesight and sense of smell.

Some interesting Kangaroo Facts! Kangaroos are animals that are found in Australia. There are four different kangaroo species, the red kangaroo, eastern grey kangaroo, western grey kangaroo and antilopine kangaroo. Kangaroos can hop around quickly on two legs or walk around slowly on all four. Kangaroos can’t walk backwards. Kangaroos have very powerful legs and can be dangerous at times. Kangaroos can jump very high, sometimes three times their own height. Kangaroos can swim. Most kangaroos eat grass. Baby kangaroos are known as ‘joeys’. A group of kangaroos is called a ‘mob’, ‘troop’ or ‘court’. Kangaroos usually live to around six years old in the wild.
