2. PANDA My favourite animal is panda. It lives in China’s bamboo woods.
Pandas are an endangered species because of woods cutting. There are just 2000 pandas in the world and
180 pandas in the zoo gardens.
Panda has black and white fur. Its
head and body are white, but ears, eyes,
hands and legs are black.
The fur hair is long and soft.
 They are big and have weight
up to 115 kg.
They walk on four legs.
They are long up to 1.5 m.
They don’t live in groups.

3. PANDA’S MENU The main food on panda’s menu is bamboo leaf.
Panda usually eats from 9 to 14 kg of bamboo leaves daily; but they can eat fish, meat and eggs if they find it.

4. PANDA’S BABY
Mamma panda in her life gives a birth to 2 or 3 babies. Baby lives in her stomach about 4 months.
Baby panda is just 10 cm long and has from 90 to 130 gr. on birth.
Baby is pink colored and doesn’t have hairs on body.
After one month it gets fur.
When it is old 1 year it has 45 kg.
 It lives with its mother up to 2 years.
Father panda doesn’t live with them.

5. Panda’s life and distant family
They live from 20 to 30 years.
Similar species are a red panda and a bear.
