Clip Art Pre-drawn graphics you can use to illustrate a slide (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2012) Clipart is typically inserted in the middle of the slide in the placeholder if the icon in the placeholder was not used to insert the graphic Have smaller file sizes than photographs

Clipart When adding Clip Art from Office.com, Microsoft does not distinguish between clip art images and photographic images (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2014)

Positioning Graphics Rulers: Horizontal and vertical measures that help you position objects on a slide (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2014) Smart Guides: Dashed lines that help a user with alignment as shapes are moved around a slide.

Formatting Pictures Artistic Effects: transform an image into something drastically different from the original Remove Background: parts of the background can be removed from the graphic

Compressing Picture Reduces the resolution of the picture, which in turn reduces the file size of the picture Reducing the file size of the picture reduces the file size of the PowerPoint

Shapes Can be formatted using the Drawing Tools Format Ribbon By holding down the Shift key, the user can create a perfectly portioned shape (Constrain) The color of a new shape is determined by the default shape formatting (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2012)

Organizing items on a slide Order: The way in which objects stack up on a slide as you create them (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2014) Grouping: Allows you to format multiple objects at once It is not necessary to ungroup the objects in order to format one of the objects
