2 WordArt Object is text in the form of a graphic (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2012) Drawing Tools Format Ribbon > WordArt Styles Group Text Fill – changes the color of the WordArt Textures: graphics that repeat to fill an object with a surface that resembles a familiar material, such as straw, marble, paper, or wood (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2012) Text Outline – changes the outline color and/or line that surrounds the letters Effects – applies special effects to the text (Shadow, Reflection, Glow, Bevel, 3-D Rotation, Transform)

3 Text Boxes A container for text on a slide (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2012) Insert Ribbon > Text Group Non-wrapping Text box – Go to Insert > Textbox and click once on the slide Text in the textbox will not wrap onto the next line Drawing a Text Box – Allows the text to wrap to the next line

4 Formatting Text boxes Can apply Quick Styles by going to the Home Ribbon (same styles as Shape Styles) Drawing Tools Format Ribbon > Shape Styles Group Shape Fill – changes the background color the text box Shape Outline – changes the outline style as well as the out line color the text box Shape Effects – allows for Shadow, Reflection, Glow, Soft Edges, Bevel, 3-D Rotation

5 Formatting text boxes Resize – To make the text box larger or smaller
Click and drag one of the selection handles (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2012) Drawing Tools Format > Size Group The shape of the text box can be changed in the Insert Shapes Group

6 Proofing Tools Check Spelling – checks spelling as you type
Red wavy underline – misspelled word Uncommon words, such as unique names, may be flagged as misspelled, even though they are not, it means they are not in the Microsoft dictionary and should be added to it Thesaurus – provides suggestions of synonyms (words with similar meanings) and antonyms (words with opposite meanings)
