Pastoral Care

What is being ‘resilient’? Resilient means able to bounce back, even when things are difficult or you face disappointment

WHEN WE ARE NOT RESILIENT... WHEN WE ARE RESILIENT... “I can’t do it...” “I will be able to do it soon!” “This is too hard...” “What a challenge – I’ll be so proud when I’ve achieved this!” “It’s impossible!” “I’m getting more confident every lesson!” “I’m rubbish at maths!” “I’ve learned from my mistake!” “I’m never going to be able to do that!” “I’ll be better at it next time!”

What can you do to be resilient today? CONSIDER WHAT HAS GONE WRONG AND HOW YOU CAN STOP IT HAPPENING IN FUTURE ASK YOUR TEACHERS WHAT YOU CAN DO TO IMPROVE HAVE ANOTHER GO WORK HARD TO SORT OUT ARGUMENTS WITH FRIENDS LOOK FOR NEW WAYS TO SOLVE PROBLEMS MANAGE STRESSFUL SITUATIONS

Pick out why these people are resilient?
