Our Mission GNJ Provides programs and services that assist individuals with obtaining their career and/or personal goals as well as enhance, build and revitalize communities!

Eligibility Criteria Out-of-School Youth Between Low Income As Defined In WIA State Issued Picture ID Social Security Card Proof of Citizenship Selective Service (Male Only 18-25) Deficient In Basic Literacy Skills Homeless, Runaway, or Foster Child Pregnant or Parenting Youth Offender Youth With A Disability Disadvantaged In order to meet the criteria for the program, you must have at least one of the following in addition to the programs income requirements:

Income Criteria Income verification documents includes at least one of the following: Copy of the paycheck stub OR Food Stamp, TANF, Child Support, SSI, and/or SSDI printout Proof of Unemployment (Letter of Determination Printout) or Lay off letter and verification The parent or youth can use a self-statement if he/she is not employed and the aforementioned documents do not apply. 1$ 9,815 2$ 16,084 3$ 22,083 4$ 27,261 5$ 32,169 6$ 37,625 7$ 43,081 8$ 48,537 For additional family members add $5,456 If the parent s income is more than the poverty guideline for their family, the youth is not eligible for the program.

THE GOALS OF WIA To increase employment, as measured by entry into unsubsidized employment; To increase retention in unsubsidized employment six months after entry into employment; To increase earnings received in unsubsidized employment for youth, adults and dislocated workers; and To enhance customer satisfaction for participants and for employers.

I-X-Cel Assessments & Training The I-X-Cel Assessment is not a test. Its used to determine your current employability skills in the areas of math, reading and workplace communication. Participants who do not have a diploma /equivalent will be required to attend GED classes. Each participant will be required to attend Green Tech Training for information on Green careers. GREEN TECH

Train-To-Work Program Includes: Leadership Development Employability Training Working With Teams Practical Application On-Site Work Experience (Paid or Unpaid) On-The-Job, Occupational or Specialty Training Employment Placement

Leadership & Working With Teams 7 Leadership Competencies include Can Demonstrate Readiness to Secure and Hold a Job Can Listen Well To Others Can Participate in Self-Estimation Can Set and Achieve Personal Development Goals Can Define the Functions, Skills, and Attitudes of Effective Leaders Can Find Information Through Researching Can Keep a Weekly Schedule and Calendar

Employability & Work Readiness 5 Trainings include: Resume Development Skills Analysis (Transferable Skill Sets) Workplace Basics Customer Service (Satisfying Your Internal and External Customers) Employer Expectations

OJT, Occupational, Specialty Training Placements May Include: Construction Warehouse & Manufacturing Hospitality /Casino Sites Offices (That Provide Customer Service Opportunities) Health and Personal Care Automotive/Transportation IT & Data Entry Customer Service Representative
