Islamic University of Gaza Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Course Description This graduate course will cover fundamentals of nonlinear systems analysis and control. It is intended for students who have had a course in linear dynamical systems, but no prior exposure to nonlinear dynamical systems. The first part of the course will focus on analysis of nonlinear systems, driven by a number of real-world examples, and some preliminary mathematical background. The second portion of the course will focus on stability through Lyapunov techniques and input-output analysis. The third portion of the course will focus on control of nonlinear systems, through feedback linearization, sliding mode control, and gain scheduling. Nonlinear Dynamic Control Systems , Dr. Moayed Almobaied syllabus

Islamic University of Gaza Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Course Objectives The students will learn how to analyze the stability and performance properties of nonlinear systems, and also how to design nonlinear feedback controllers. The skills developed will be based on both extensions of linear tools as well as the latest direct nonlinear methods. Nonlinear Dynamic Control Systems , Dr. Moayed Almobaied syllabus

Islamic University of Gaza Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Grading Policy Regular attendance of this class is necessary to receive a passing grade. Homework including MATLAB based computer exercises will be assigned frequently. No late homework will be accepted. Consultation with other students on the problems is permitted but each student must submit his personal solution. Two identical solutions will not be considered. Nonlinear Dynamic Control Systems , Dr. Moayed Almobaied syllabus

Islamic University of Gaza Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Grading Policy Cellular phones should be off or on silent ring during class in order to keep classroom distractions at a minimum. Missed midterms will result in a score of 0. If you have a legitimate reason for missing a midterm, and communicate with me prior to the midterm, you may be able to arrange an alternative solution. The sooner you inform me of your conflict, the better your chances of being able to make up the missed grade. Nonlinear Dynamic Control Systems , Dr. Moayed Almobaied syllabus
