3. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Mathematical programming and constrained optimization research methods for applied decision making in agriculture. Development of computer and writing skills necessary for finding optimal solutions to complex applied problems in addition to succinctly communicating results in the proper format and context. Theory, implementation and optimal solution sensitivity of linear and integer programming as well as network and project scheduling models are examined. (3 Hours)

4. COURSE OBJECTIVES
Develop the capacity to manage large amounts of numerical data in a ordered format.
Develop a working knowledge and understanding of Excel and how it can be utilized to solve complex problems.
Develop an understanding of spreadsheet engineering to solve business problems.
Develop statistical skills in regression analysis and forecasting.

7. COURSE POLICIES
Students are encouraged to access course materials regularly.
Students are expected to complete all reading assignments prior to any group discussions.
All quizzes are expected to be completed on the date due. The quiz grade will be reduced by 50% if not completed by the due date.
Cheating will not be tolerated!!!! This includes acquiring answers or providing answers during examinations or assigned work. Presenting work, ideas of another without giving credit and proper documentation.

This course will utilize weekly timed Blackboard quizzes. Please make sure you keep up with the quizzes.
No make up exams will be given in this course. If you have to miss an exam you must contact me BEFORE the exam is given to make arrangements.
Students will be responsible for weekly online quizzes covering class material. These will be timed quizzes and require you to access material frequently.

9. COURSE POLICIES
Assignments will be required throughout he semester from the textbook. These assignments will be problem based and will require you to understand the course material. You will also be responsible for writing prescriptions to articulate your solutions to various problems. You will need access to Microsoft Excel for the assignments.
I plan to post so discussion board assignments during the semester. These are designed to help you interact with each other. They will reflect current topics.
