International Groupings 8 1950 Robert Schuman: Iron and coal producing countries should work together Teacher Notes: First proposed by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman as a way to prevent further war between France and Germany.

International Groupings 8 1951 Treaty of Paris ECSC Common market Teacher Notes: Founding members of ECSC Belgium France Germany Italy Luxembourg Netherlands

International Groupings 8 1957 The Treaty of Rome Teacher Notes: The Treaty of Rome allowed the free movement of goods, services, workers and money between the six countries.
