Recipe Modification

NS Standard 11 Making Healthy Fat Substitutions d. Make recommendations for other lifestyle changes that will reduce the risks or aide the therapy for the disease/condition. Prepare a menu item that meets the nutritional recommendations for achieving good cardiovascular health.

Lesson Overview Print a recipe that would not be healthy for a person with atherosclerosis. Make modifications to your recipe to create a healthier version for a person with atherosclerosis. Create a nutrition label for your recipe before and after modifications. Compare/contrast nutrition content before and after modifications. Justify, based on research, modifications.
