Presentation transcript:

Rattlers Rattle snakes are deadly snakes that are poisonous. Most of them are hidden in hard to see places. They also have a rattle on the end of their tails. The biggest rattle snake is The Eastern Diamondback. It can get up to 6 feet (1.8m) long or more. Rattle snakes eat their pray whole. The smallest rattle snake is The Pygmy rattlesnake are less than 20 inches (50cm). Rattle snakes get their pray by sinking their fangs into them and pump in venom. Then let go and waits. If it tries to get away the rattle snake will follow the scent trail it leaves behind with its tongue. Rattle snakes are also reptiles and they don’t even have any legs so they have to slither to move. Rattle snakes mostly eat small mammals like mice, squirrels, rabbits, rats, and sometimes birds. Some eat lizards and others eat frogs. Rattle snakes get water from the food they eat. Sometimes they suck some water from a puddle or pond. Rattle snakes have natural enemies such as bison. They sometimes crush them by mistake or on purpose. Some animals eat them like the Red-tailed hawks. Rattle snakes are special animals that have lots of things that humans don’t have.
