A descriptive study describing the work done by students in the university .The study was done on 50 full-timed students in faculties of medicine from different universities allover Egypt. The information was collected using online questionnaire in English language.

Activities that students participating would like to have more time in their schedule in an exam’s week…

From the point of view of the participating students,the main reason for choosing activities as: “clinical examination training ,clinical sessions, field training and skill lab” to have more time in the schedule {these activities are chosen by great majority of participating students} is that-----these activities are more practical hence more effective and make one gain experience in dealing with patients thus a good doctor is constructed…..Beside being more effective these method are more interesting and more refreshing than solid information in text books While at exam’s time the great majority of students prefer performing no activity in exam’s week as they require more time for studying to be prepared to exams.

When they were asked about the time they spend on these extracurricular activities their answer was…..

From the survey carried out we concluded that, In a regular week, the majority of the students agreed that:” lectures, labs, skill lab, clinical examination, clinical sessions and field training ” are the most frequently taken activities in the university. In an exam’s week, the great majority of students agreed that no activity is taken at all on most days, and those who agreed to take activities they mentioned that: ” lectures, labs , clinical examination and clinical sessions” are the most frequently taken activities. In a regular week,70% of the students would like to have more time for clinical examination in their schedule and the reason for choosing such activity is that these activities are more practical hence more effective and make one gain experience in dealing with patients beside being more interesting. In an exam’s week 44% of student prefer to take no activity at all as they require more time to be prepared for the exam while 32% prefer to have more time for clinical examination in exam’s week as they are practical and make information applicable thus become more fixed for the exam.

In a regular week,24% of students wish to include extracurricular activities as:” competitions , sports training ,etc. ” in the university work. While in exam’s week , only 6% accepted to add quizzes and revisions in the university work. Regarding the independent work of the students, …In average week 70% of students spend 10 to 20 hours per week …In exam’s week, 65% of students spend more than 20 hours per week Regarding extracurricular activities as : ” charity work, student association, etc. ”, …60 % of students spend about less than 10 hours per week from their time on these activities.
