2018 Making Bibliographies

Citing Sources Who What When Where Author(s) (last name first) “Title” (book, website, webpage) Title (“container” source) Publisher (“validity”) Date published, date accessed (European style, day month year) Website URL (omit http//:) Who What When Where http://www.allaboutturkey.com/hitit.htm

Citing Sources Sansal, Burak. “The Hittites.” AllaboutTurkey. www.allaboutturkey.com/hitit.htm. 2010. 16 November 2010.

Citing Sources If you cannot find a piece of information (GOOD FAITH EFFORT) required for your bibliography, skip it: No author listed: "Hattusa." Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia. Wikimedia Foundation. <en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hattusa>. 4 Nov 2010. 16 Nov 2010. Incomplete online date: Sansal, Burak. "The Hittites." All About Turkey. <www.allaboutturkey.com/hitit.htm>. 2010. 18 Nov. 2010.

Citing Sources When you have collected the correct information from each source and written it in the correct format, ALPHBETIZE your sources by the first word in each citation (usually the author’s last name; sometimes the title of the book, article or webpage if no author is listed). Use a “hanging indent” to set off the first word in the citation from the rest of the citation: Sansal, Burak. "The Hittites." All About Turkey. <www.allaboutturkey.com/hitit.htm>. 2010. 18 Nov. 2010.

Example: "Hattusa." Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia. Wikimedia Foundation, <en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hattusa>. 4 Nov 2010. 16 Nov 2010. Sansal, Burak. "The Hittites." All About Turkey. <www.allaboutturkey.com/hitit.htm>.2010. 18 Nov. 2010. "Wikijunior:Ancient Civilizations/Hittites - Wikibooks, Collection of Open- content Textbooks." Wikibooks. Wikimedia Foundation. <en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikijunior:Ancient Civilizations/Hittites>. 7 July 2010. 16 Nov. 2010.

For this project, specifically… Your GROUP bibliography should be included at the end of your PowerPoint. It should include ALL the SOURCES your ENTIRE GROUP used. ALL the sources should be combined, formatted correctly, and alphabetized. DO NOT provide a separate bibliography for each member of your group. DO NOT print a paper copy.

FOR your INDIVIDUAL project: You MUST include a SEPARATE bibliography for the sources you used while you made your individual bibliography. You MUST have more than 1 source! Remember credibility, validity, and reliability!!! Remember, you are TEACHING us information about your area, not just telling us about what you made! You MUST bring in a PRINTED PAPER copy of this bibliography, separate from your group project.

Help Is On the Way! Easybib.com Register (Use KSD email and password). Save lists. Use the assignment name or topic as the list title. Fill in the blanks. Do some additional searching in your website as needed to find details. Export to Word for print project or use the “Copy & Paste” link for electronic work.
