The female frog lays her eggs in the water The female frog lays her eggs in the water. They become surrounded by a jelly-like covering, which protects the eggs.

After about 21 days, a tadpole wriggles out of each egg and attaches itself to a weed in the water. It has a long tail and no legs.

The tadpole grows. It does not have lungs. It has gills.

In about 5 weeks the tadpole will start to grow legs and get lungs In about 5 weeks the tadpole will start to grow legs and get lungs. It will need lungs when it swims to the surface for air.

The tadpole is now called a froglet The tadpole is now called a froglet. The legs grow and the tail becomes smaller. In 12 weeks it will not have a tail. The froglet will be a frog.

Eleven weeks after the egg was laid, the frog is an adult Eleven weeks after the egg was laid, the frog is an adult. This frog will live mostly on land, with occasional swims. The female lays the eggs, the male fertilizes them, and the whole process begins again.
