What is a Life Cycle? A life cycle is a set of changes animals go through as they grow. http://www.enchantedlearning.com

First Stage: Eggs. Frog eggs look like tiny clear blobs with black centers. The clear jelly is the shell of the egg. It protects the tiny frog and keeps it warm. http://www.cuttingedgeherp.com

Second Stage: Tadpoles Tadpoles have a head and tail. Like fish, tadpoles have gills for breathing underwater. Tadpoles eat plants. They are herbivores. As it changes, the tadpole grows back legs, then front legs. Then it’s tail shrinks. It looses its gills and lungs grow. http://www.wildlifetrust.org.uk

Third Stage: Froglets Froglets look like small adults with a small tail. Froglets begin to leave the water and go on land. Froglets begin to eat insects. Froglets are now carnivores. http://ourworld.com

Fourth Stage: Frog A frog is full grown when it does not have a tail. Frogs can have babies. The life cycle continues. http://images.usatoday.com
