PRIORITIES & LEVEL OF SERVICE FOR SNOW & ICE CONTROL Clear all school bus and mail routes as soon as practical. Obtain as much width as possible LEVEL OF SERVICE Class 1 Roads – Primary Road having over 750 ADT Class 2 Roads – Secondary Roads having 250 to 750 ADT Class 3 Roads – Secondary Roads having 50 to 250 ADT Class 4 Roads – Secondary Roads with less than 50 ADT* * Select Roads are posted “No Winter Maintenance” generally from October 15 to June 1

HOW, WHEN AND WHY FOR SNOW & ICE CONTROL Mesa County maintains 24-hour coverage during and after storms until near normal driving conditions are restored Division forces will apply abrasives to snow packed intersections, icy grades and curves to keep traffic moving safely. Road and streets within incorporated cities are not included in Mesa County’s Program. Plowing snow in county subdivisions may be impractical due to house density and lack of space to store snow
